LifeStream’s 14th Annual Aging Well Conference
LifeStream Services invites the public to attend the 14th Annual Aging Well conference on Tuesday, May 9. Randy Ollis, WISH-TV Meteorologist, and Steve “Brownie” Brown, WERK DJ, will be keynote speakers at the conference. Conference entertainment will be provided by The Peterson-Dunn Project and Tom Cherry’s Old Time Radio Show.
This year’s conference will be carnival themed complete with an Arcade sponsored by L.J. Stone, interactive activities, prizes, and presentations on how to have fun aging well.
Aging Well is an opportunity to network with older adults, their family members, professional and informal caregivers, Area Agencies on Aging, senior centers, community living centers, and other health service providers. The conference includes educational and interactive exhibits, breakfast and lunch, and informational presentations on a variety of topics including balance, nutrition, legal services, pre-planning, medications, travel, and much more.
LifeStream Transportation will be providing shuttle service from the parking lot to the Alumni Center. Accommodations can be made for those caregivers who wish to attend the conference with their loved one. This is available at no cost. Reservations are needed in advance by calling 765-759-1121.

Keynote speaker, Randy Ollis, joined WISH-TV in 1984 as meteorologist for Daybreak and the noon news. He left a similar position at KTVY-TV, Oklahoma City, to move to Indianapolis. Before that, Randy held positions at WDTN-TV, Dayton, Ohio, and WSAW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin. Randy received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University and holds the seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. In addition to his forecasting and on-air duties at WISH-TV, he often speaks to local schools and various groups about weather casting and careers in television. Randy and his wife, Alison, have four girls and are active in their church.
Special guest speaker, Steve “Brownie” Brown, is a native born Munsonian. He and his wife Sarah reside in Muncie. He started his radio career January 27, 1967, and says he enjoys it today just as much as he enjoyed it the very first day. Brownie met his wife of 31 years, Sarah, when she was hired at a radio station where he worked. Sarah also worked in broadcasting for 28 years as Sarah Slater. Together they have worked in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point, North Carolina, Amarillo, Texas, and several stations in Indiana. Brownie now is on the air Monday through Friday from 6 AM until 10 AM at 104.9 WERK-FM. Non radio activities include a board member of Muncie Civic Theater...romping with his two miniature Dachshunds, Addie, and Haddie, playing guitar, reading, and flying.
