The Friends of the Gardens of Matter Park Present Annual Fundraiser “An Evening in the Gardens”
The Friends of The Gardens of Matter Park will host their annual fundraiser, “An Evening in The Gardens,” on Friday, July 21, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The Gardens of Matter Park will be in full bloom and provide a spectacular setting for this European-style festival. A juried art show with more than 30 artisans will be featured along with professional garden speakers, art demonstrations, and hands-on art experiences. A variety of culinary artisans will also be on hand to provide a “Taste of The Gardens.” Festival-goers can work one-on-one with a professional glass blower, paint a Ukrainian egg, or create their own masterpiece in pottery, on canvas, or on a t-shirt. Nationally-renowned garden professionals Pat Seibel and Jack Barnwell will speak at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in The Garden House. The Yeager Swing Trio, the Mississinewa Valley Swing Band, and harpists Joy and Melissa Frecker will all perform on the main stage throughout the evening. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the beauty of The Gardens, one of just five Proven Winners “Signature Gardens” in the U.S. and the home of the award-winning Butterfly Garden. Proceeds fund quality of life events sponsored by The Friends of The Gardens and the Gardens of Matter Park Endowment at the Community Foundation of Grant County.
