On Oct. 25, Carey Services and its Creative Hearts Art Studio will officially dedicate a sculpture the studio’s artists created and installed at a Marion city park.

The colorful piece of artwork has been installed at Hogin Park on 14th Street near the Cardinal Greenway in Marion. The dedication will begin at 2 p.m.

“We’re excited to publically present this beautiful sculpture to the public, and we hope everybody enjoys it for many years to come,” said Jim Allbaugh, Carey Services’ president and chief executive officer. “The many artists who contributed to creating this piece put in hours of hard work to come up with ideas, and they spent even more time after that turning that vision they wanted to create into reality. The finished product is unique and really brightens up the area of the park where it is located.”

The Indiana Arts Commission and American Woodmark Foundation supported the project through grant awards to pay for supplies and staff assistance. Marion Rehabilitation and Assisted Living also helped with the project through a relationship with McCulloch Middle School, which built the donated benches that surround the sculpture. Carey Services artists painted the benches to match the colors on the sculpture.

The public is invited to the dedication, which will include remarks from Carey Services officials and Carey’s Creative Hearts Studio artists.
