Family Service Society, Inc. a social service 501 (c) 3 that focuses on addressing the social and emotional needs of children, adults and families recently promoted Brett Boswinkle to Clinical Administrator. This is a new role for the management of the clinical department at FSSI and a position that is needed to meet the growing department and required managerial responsibilities.

“We are so excited that one of our own emerged as the top candidate for the position of Clinical Administrator. Brett’s 15 year commitment to the organization, his excellence in clinical work and ability to build teams and relationships were only a few of many factors in his hiring for this new position.” said Lisa Dominisse, President/CEO. “Our business is ever evolving as the needs of the communities we serve change—this has been true for our entire 99 year history. Brett has proven that he has the passion as well as the strong work ethic and track record of success to help us take Family Service Society forward in meeting the needs of people wherever they are in their mental wellness journey.”

Boswinkle, a licensed mental health counselor and CSAYC joined the FSSI team in 2011 as a home based case manager and quickly positioned himself to take on more responsibilities and to grow into a supervisory role. His experience and knowledge of the needs of our clients coupled with his desire to learn more about the business as a whole made him the best candidate for the job.

“I am both honored and humbled to take over the administration of the clinical department at Family Service Society. Our clinical team is already well-known for excellence and I hope to continue that into the future.” stated Boswinkle. “ I hope to continue our history of providing high quality, specialized services that fill the needs of the people of Grant County to help make our community a better place for those who reside and work here. As we approach our 100 year anniversary in 2019, I hope to help start paving the road to the next 100 years.”

Brett Boswinkle, LMHC, CSAYC began his career in social services in January 2005 as an assistant counselor in the Indiana prison system working with incarcerated adult males. During his time working with adult prison clients, he also made the decision to pursue a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. He eventually transitioned to working in the juvenile division of the State prison system as a program director, which involved managing programs and services to incarcerated youth. Feeling a higher calling, one that helped prevent incarceration, he came to Family Service Society, Inc. as a home-based case manager working predominantly with juveniles on probation. Brett also completed his graduate program internship at Family Service Society, Inc. in the adult Sex Offender Program (SOP).

Upon graduating with his Master’s Degree, Brett left Family Service Society, Inc. for not quite 2 years, working at an agency based in Indianapolis providing home-based therapy services to youth. In February 2011, Brett returned to Family Service Society, Inc. as a therapist. In November 2015, Brett was promoted to a supervisor over a couple of the agency’s clinical programs. This role saw him continuing to work with clients directly, but also supervising and mentoring other clinical staff. During this time, Brett also became increasingly involved in a State-level professional organization for professionals who work with sexually maladaptive youth.

In April 2018, Brett took over as Clinical Administrator for the clinical department at Family Service Society, Inc. While this role will see Brett reducing direct client service, he will continue to supervise and mentor clinical staff and assist in continuing the legacy of Family Service Society, Inc.’s delivery of high quality clinical services to Grant County and the surrounding communities.
