The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra will present its Opening Night concert on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rediger Chapel/Auditorium, LaRita Boren Campus Center, Taylor University, Upland. The concert is the first of the 2017-2018 "A Season to Remember." Our first of three conductor candidates, Matthew Kraemer will be the musical director for the concert.

Broadway selections will be featured with guest soloist Steve Amerson. Also, performing at the concert will be the 2016 winner of the MPO’s Young Artist Competition, Hasun Yoo, Violin. Miss Yoo will perform the first movement of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major. The orchestra will also perform arrangements of Astor Piazzolla’s music as well as Respighi’s lovely Fountains of Rome.
