On Thursday, November 8, at 7:30 pm, two Taylor University English department and two music faculty members will present a recital of poetry and music commemorating the armistice that ended World War I one hundred years ago. The program includes poetry by and about WWI soldiers, music written in memory of friends lost in The Great War, and music pointing to the consequences of “the war to end all wars.”  Le tombeau de Couperin by Maurice Ravel, the third movement of Quatour pour la fin du temps by Olivier Messiaen, and Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Leonard Bernstein are the featured musical selections for this free performance to be held in Taylor University’s Butz Carruth Recital Hall.
