Taylor University Chorale Spring Concert
The renowned Taylor University Chorale presents “Love in Bloom,” a free Spring concert. This will be the twenty-second Spring Concert under the direction of Dr. JoAnn Rediger, who began serving as Taylor's Director of Choral Activities in 1996.
Excellent musicians will join the Chorale including the Taylor Sounds Chamber Ensemble, Taylor University String Quartet, clarinetists Dr. Chris Bade and Stephen Christophersen, violinist Hasun Yoo, and flutist Claira Loisch. A faculty and student men’s choir with Assistant Conductor Howard Lee and accompanist Sheila Todd will lend their exceptional skills along with The Woodlan High School Women’s Choir from Woodburn, IN, directed by TU alumnus Kyle Romine.
Repertoire highlights include:
Gospel: My God is a Rock, I’ll Be On My Way, and Ain’t No Grave Can Hold My Body Down
Contemporary: What a Wonderful World, I Love You, and The Mermaid’s Lament
Folk: How Can I Keep From Singing and Shenandoah
Sacred: Praise To The Lord, Psalm 23, and Abide With Me
Twentieth Century: Gracious Spirit, Holy Ghost and The Ground
The music is amplified by the four-story high ceiling in the Euler Atrium, which creates a cathedral-like resonance unlike anything in the surrounding area – well worth hearing for all ages. Ample free parking is available nearby on the east side of Taylor’s campus. Early arrival is suggested given limited seating for this end-of-the-year event. We hope to see you there!
