"The Chamber is proud to be part of this event -- two community-focused organizations sponsoring an event where candidates can share their vision for Marion's future," said Kylie Jackson, the Chamber's President and CEO. "This is a pivotal election for Marion and voters should be as informed as possible."
"The library is an important part of the city, and it has a responsibility to help voters make knowledgeable choices," said Mary Eckerle, the library's executive director. "One of a citizen's most important duties is to vote, and this forum will provide voters with information to help them perform that duty."
Rather than a debate with questions from a panel followed by rebuttals, a moderator will pose questions to candidates individually, and candidates will not respond to other candidates' answers. Questions will focus on topics such as the economy, economic development, and quality of life.
For more information, contact the Marion Public Library at 668-2900 or the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce at 664-5107. The forum will be broadcast live on WBAT.
