Marion, IN – February 12, 2016 The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra will feature the Chamber Winds and guest artist Dr. Leon Harshenin in its fourth concert of the 2015-16 season. On Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall at Taylor University, the Chamber Winds will perform the serenades of Mozart and Dvořák. Pianist Dr. Leon Harshenin will join the ensemble for Beethoven’s Quintet for Piano and Winds. Taylor University and Dr. Harshenin are co-sponsors of this event which will take place in the most intimate venue of the season. Because seating is limited in the Recital Hall, advance reservations are suggested.

The MPO’s 2015-16 Season, “A Symphony for the Senses,” is filled with performances that will rejuvenate the senses and please a wide range of musical tastes. For more than 45 years, the community it serves has generously supported the MPO, demonstrating a mutual commitment to the arts and cultural vitality of Grant County and the surrounding area. With such support, the orchestra has flourished from a small group of volunteer musicians into a professional symphony with high artistic standards and educational initiatives that provide the framework for each season. Some of the finest musicians in the state are being featured again this year along with several accomplished guest artists under the direction of Maestro Alexander Platt in the most beautiful and intimate venues in the county.
