The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra will present its holiday concert on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. The MPO is proud to present “Christmas Jubilee” in one of the most fitting and unique venues this season, the 94-year-old sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in downtown Marion. The concert will feature guest conductor Thomas Elefant who will lead the MPO in many Christmas classics. You’ll hear LeRoy Anderson’s festive “Sleigh Ride,” selections from the Nutcracker Suite, and the LeRoy Anderson’s Christmas favorite, “A Christmas Festival.” The program will be followed by a reception where guests may enjoy snacks and even more Christmas music provided by Gardner Stewart, a senior from Taylor University.
“Christmas Jubilee” will be the second concert of the MPO’s 2017-2018 “A Season to Remember” series. As an extension of its mission to enrich the community through musical programming and education, the MPO offers affordably priced tickets for patrons of all ages. Adults tickets are $20, and Students 13 and up are $10. Tickets can be ordered through the MPO Box Office at 765-662-0012 or mpo.marion@gmail.com. Tickets are also available through First United Methodist, 765-664-5177.
