Presenting Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic musical masterpiece The Pirates of Penzance. The story follows a rollicking band of Pirates who clash with a very proper English Major General and seek to marry his many daughters. Complete with dancing policeman and a fiery pirate nursery maid, the operetta has been an audience favorite since its premiere. Combining Sullivan’s exquisite vocal and instrumental writing with Gilbert’s brilliantly witty texts, it provides societal parody, a love story, and constant hilarity.
Taylor University Lyric Theatre was recognized in 2015 and 2017 with national awards for productions of Amahl and the Night Visitors and Gianni Schicchi.
