GM Marion Stamping Invites Community to Celebrate 70 Years at Free Open House & Family Day

MARION, Ind. — GM Marion Stamping is opening its doors to the community on Friday, July 31, for a special 70th Anniversary Community Open House & Family Day, celebrating seven decades of manufacturing excellence and community partnership.

The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 2400 W. Second Street in Marion, with the final guided plant tour beginning at 6 p.m. Community members of all ages are invited to explore the facility, meet local organizations, and enjoy a full day of family-friendly activities.

Guests will have the opportunity to take guided tours of GM Marion Stamping's operations, experience hands-on robotics demonstrations with Marion Health, test their skills in a remote-control car activity hosted by Next Gen RC & Hobby, visit the Kokomo Fire Department's smoke house, enjoy hair tinsel and face painting, and sample offerings from several local food trucks.

More than 25 local businesses and organizations will also be on-site, showcasing the strong partnerships that help make Grant County a great place to live, work, and grow.

For those participating in plant tours, safety equipment will be provided. Visitors should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and shirts with sleeves. Tank tops and crop tops are not permitted, and children must be at least 8 years old to participate in tours.

"This event is our way of celebrating not only 70 years of manufacturing, but also the employees, families, and community partners who have been part of that journey," organizers said. "We invite everyone to come experience GM Marion Stamping, connect with local organizations, and enjoy a fun day with the entire family."
