August is National Wellness Month! LifeStream is dedicated to helping older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers maintain their independence and improve quality of life through various programs, including wellness. Taking care of your well-being is vital to aging with independence. This month encourages us to focus on self-care, stress management, and healthy habits impacting physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. LifeStream offers a number of wellness classes that each focus on different areas of wellness. Read more to find a class that fits your needs.
LifeStream is excited to once again host JOY Games South (Just Older Youth) August 17-18, with our kick-off event this Thursday, August 13! The JOY Games has a history of providing friendly competition and encouragement for older adults to stay active. Those who are 55 and older can participate in activities including pickleball, Bingo, chair volleyball, Euchre, a golf scramble, and more. Registration is still open. LifeStream café sites provide more than just a meal; it is an opportunity to be active and engaged in the community while meeting nutrition goals. LifeStream has senior community cafés throughout 12 counties in Indiana. Lunch is provided on a donation basis to those who are 60 years of age and over and their spouse. Meals are provided to those below the age of 60 at current market cost. Reservations to eat lunch at a café must be made at least one business day in advance by calling the site you plan to attend or call 800-589-1121.
