MCS welcomes Principal Thompson to Frances Slocum Elementary
Marion Community Schools is pleased to announce that Adam Thompson has been named principal of Frances Slocum Elementary School.
Thompson brings almost 20 years of educational experience, including work as an elementary teacher and as a district-level leader, coach, and mentor. Thompson said he is eager to build relationships with students, families, and staff while fostering a collaborative school culture rooted in high expectations.
MCS Superintendent Stephanie Lockwood said Thompson’s leadership aligns with the district’s priorities.
“We are excited to welcome Principal Thompson to Marion Community Schools,” Lockwood said. “His background in instruction, inclusive education, and data-informed practices will be an asset to Frances Slocum. His relational approach to leadership will serve our students and staff well.”
Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s in educational leadership from Purdue University. He also holds endorsements in English Language Development and Early Literacy.
He will begin his role at Frances Slocum immediately. Marion Community Schools thanks outgoing principal Rianne Aguilar for her years of dedicated service and leadership and wishes her continued success in her new district-level role, serving as K-8 Curriculum Director.
We hope all of our Frances Slocum Elementary families plan to attend our Back to School Open House set for 4 to 5:30 Aug. 4 at the school, where they can meet Principal Thompson!
